How Information Is Shared

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share your climbing session data with other users, advertisers, data brokers, or external analytics partners for their own marketing or profiling purposes.

OpenAI processing

ClimbCoach.ai uses OpenAI as its third-party artificial-intelligence service provider. We ask for your explicit permission in the app before sending any personal data to OpenAI. The app cannot provide its coaching features without this processing, and you may withdraw permission from the Account screen.

Depending on the feature you choose, information sent to OpenAI may include:

• chat messages and recent conversation context;
• climbing profile information, goals, approximate level, and relevant injuries;
• training plans, session history, climbing logs, and imported logbook information;
• check-in information, including menstrual-cycle information only when you choose to track it; and
• voice recordings that you choose to submit for transcription.

We send only information relevant to the coaching, analysis, structured extraction, or transcription you request. OpenAI processes it on our behalf to return the requested result. We require providers processing personal data for us to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard as described in this policy. We do not permit OpenAI to use the information for advertising or independent profiling of ClimbCoach.ai users.

We may otherwise disclose information only in the following limited situations:

• With service providers or infrastructure providers that help us host, process, secure, or operate the app and backend systems, only as needed to provide the service.
• If required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
• To protect rights, safety, security, users, or the public.
• In connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain your climbing history, tailor advice, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
